Fourth of July · Backyard Cookout Picks

The setup that makes July 4th actually work.

We’ve hosted the Fourth with five kids running around, a grill going, neighbors showing up with extra folding chairs. Here’s what we actually reach for every year — no impulse buys, no single-use junk, just the five things we’d tell you to get in a parking lot conversation.

The honest July 4th shopping list

The Fourth is one of the few days a year where everything happens outside at once: the grill is going, the kids need to be entertained, the cooler needs to hold ice for six hours in July heat, and someone always forgot to charge the speaker the night before.

We’ve done enough Fourths to know what actually matters. A real charcoal grill (not a tiny portable one that runs out of fuel after four burgers). A wireless thermometer so you can stop hovering over the grill and actually talk to people. A cooler that keeps ice from 10am to 10pm. Something for the kids that doesn’t need assembling while everyone is already outside. And music that can actually be heard over a backyard full of people.

All five ship Prime. Order by July 1st and you’ll have everything before the weekend.
