Summer · Outdoor Family Picks
The gear that actually comes out of the garage.
Five outdoor picks our family of five has used hard since Memorial Day — soccer sidelines, lake days, backyard grilling, and four different camping trips. Nothing in here is a recommendation; it’s a list of things already in our garage.

Why this list
Every summer I convince myself I need new stuff. Most of it sits in a corner by August. These five didn’t. The cooler is still coming on every lake day. The sun shade went to seventeen soccer games. The kids fight over the splash pad on weekdays.
I’m not a gear reviewer by trade — I’m a dad who grills four nights a week and spends Saturday mornings on a soccer sideline. These are the things I’d actually tell you to buy if you asked me in a parking lot.
All five are on Amazon with Prime shipping. Most will arrive in two days, which means you can order on a Thursday and have it ready for the weekend.
